II-I-1. LILLIE MAE SIBERT (1874 – 1944), daughter of David Wesley Sibert3 (George2, John David1)
Lillie Sibert was born on 25 May 1874. [1][2] She died on 20 December 1944. [2] She married Eugene Bismark Moore on 25 September 1892 in Taliaferro County, Georgia. [1][3][4] He was the son of Lucius Augustus and Ann Moore. [3] He was born on 28 November 1870 in Taliafero County. [2][3] He died on 22 February 1946, aged 75, at his farm near Tucker, DeKalb County, Georgia. [2][3] Lillie and Eugene are buried in the Sharon Methodist Church Cemetery in Sharon, Taliaferro County. [2]
Eugene graduated from the university of Georgia in 1888, at age 18. [3]
According to the census, on 2 June 1900, Eugene G., born in November 1870 in Georgia, and Lillie S., born in May 1875[!] in Georgia, lived in Waynesboro, Burke County Georgia with their son Harland, born in August 1893 in Georgia; their daughter Eugenia, born in March 1899 in Georgia; and three borders, [Lillie's sister] Flora Sibert, Ralph Moore, aged six, and Glynne Moore, aged three. They had been married for eight years. Lillie had had three children, and two were living. Eugene was a merchant. [5]
On 19 April 1910, Eugene B., aged 39, and Lillie, aged 34, lived in Waynesboro with their children Harland, aged 16; Eugenia, aged 11; and Frances, aged nine and born in Georgia. Eugene and Harland were salesmen at a general store. [5]
On 8 January 1920, Eugene, aged 49, and Lilly, aged 45, lived in Atlanta with their daughters Eugenia, aged 20, and Francis, aged 19. Eugene was the proprietor of a [illegible]. [5]
Eugene was calendar clerk of the Georgia House of Representatives from 1903 to 1917, and clerk from 1917 to 1931. [3]
On 4 April 1930, Eugene B., aged 59, and Lillie, aged 54, lived in Atlanta with their divorced daughter Frances (referred to as Frances Moore), aged 27. Eugene was the clerk of the state legislature. [5]
On 2 April 1940, E. Bismark, aged 69, and Lillie, aged 65, lived in Tucker. E. Bismark's occupation was "public office." [5]
According to his obituary, Eugene left two daughters, Miss Frances Moore and Mrs. E.W. Smith, Jr., and a granddaughter, Mrs Eugenia Estes. [ 3]
Children of Eugene Bismark Moore and Lillie Sibert:
II-I-1-a. Harland Moore [1] was born on 1 August 1893 in Georgia. [2] He died on 22 November 1914 in Atlanta. [2][6] He is buried in the Sharon Methodist Church Cemetery. [2]
According to his death notice, Harland died in a private sanitarium. He was survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Moore; two brothers, O.S. and R.G. Moore[!]; two sisters, Frances and Eugenia Moore. [6]
Harland died intestate. On 1 December 1914, [his father] E.B. Moore was granted temporary administration until 1 January 1915. [7]
Harland was an assistant doorkeeper of the Georgia House of Representatives in 1913. [8]
II-I-1-b. Marion Louise Moore [1] was born on 23 February 1897 in Georgia. [2] She died of a fever on 22 August 1899, aged two, and is buried in the Magnolia Cemetery in Waynesboro. [2]
II-I-1-c. Eugenia Moore [1] was born on 2 March 1899 in Georgia. [2][9] She died on 10 September 1986. [2][9] She married Edward Walter Smith on 10 June 1920 in Fulton County. [2][4] He was born on 31 December 1894 in South Carolina and died on 4 March 1980. [2] Eugenia and Edward are buried in the Hillandale Memorial Gardens in Lithonia, DeKalb County, Georgia. [2]
According to the census, on 8 April 1940, Walter E., Jr., aged 41 and born in South Carolina, and Eugenia M., aged 41 and born in Georgia, lived in Atlanta with their daughter F. Eugenia, aged 19 and born in Georgia. Walter was an auditor in the revenue department of the state capital and F. Eugenia was a stenographer at the telephone office. Walter had completed eighth grade; Eugenia had completed three years of high school; and F. Eugenia had graduated from high school. [5]
Children of Edward Walter Smith and Eugenia Moore:
i. Eugenia Smith was born on 31 May 1921. [2] She died on 27 December 2009. [2] She married Egbert Washington Estes. [2] Egbert, the son of Egbert Washington and Lena Bell Estes, was born on 9 December 1914 in Atlanta and died on 14 June 2011, aged 98, in Homer, Banks County, Georgia. [2][10] Eugenia and Egbert are buried in the Hillandale Memorial Gardens. [2]
Egbert served in the U.S. Army in World War II. [10]
Eugenia and Egbert were survived by two children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. [10]
II-I-1-d. Frances Moore [1] was born on 4 December 1900. [2] She died on 7 July 1977. [2] She married James Henry Duggan. [2] He was born on 28 July 1900 and died on 16 July 1954. [2] James and Frances divorced by 1930. He married second Lillian Ervin. [2] She was born on 11 January 1909 and died on 17 November 1995. [2] Frances is buried in the Sharon Methodist Church Cemetery. [2] James and Lillian are buried in the Manning Cemetery in Manning, Clarendon County, South Carolina. [2]
On 4 April 1930, Frances was divorced and lived with her parents in Atlanta. She was a clerk of the Highway Board. [5]
